The challenge
During a BRZO audit, our client had received a discrepancy on the quality and level of use of the Management of Change (MOC) process. This deviation was a threat to their License to Operate. The process was standardized but simply not sufficiently implemented. As a result, it was not being applied properly and follow-up from management was also lacking. One of the reasons for this was also that the paper process was rather cumbersome.
Our approach
- Improve the process by digitizing it using an App
- Following this, implement the process by training the why, how and what among all users
- Communicate widely and in a structured manner with all stakeholders and promote among users
- Closing the PDCA by following up on the MOC status in the teams' weekly reviews
The challenge of the implementation was the scale. In fact, the process is run across 10 plants, dozens of teams and hundreds of users.
The result
Sustainable implemented process. App for performing a Management of Change. The deviation from the environmental department was removed and even compliments were given for the solution and level of use.
